British Sea Power

The Craufurd Arms, Wolverton, Milton Keynes
Artists watched: British Sea Power, Enjoyable Listens
My annual jaunt to a new venue to see British Sea Power play and this time I am accompanied by Mr Red Penguin junior (who is actually not junior in many senses, as he has just finished the third year of his four year degree course).
Part of the thrill of going to Milton Keynes on a Friday afternoon is fighting the M25 and M1 traffic - which meant a journey I once did in 59 minutes in a Vauxhall Cavalier (pre-cameras everywhere) took me 2 hours and 30 mins. Luckily we had plenty of time to explore and found a very nice little Indian restaurant within walking distance too.
The restaurant was also a "sorry, we're not licenced but feel free to buy your beer from the convenience store next door" restaurant. Which I did!
The support was from local band Enjoyable Listens, who describe themselves on Facebook as "a bloodstained fur coat floating on the undulating beat of street talk" although I found them a bit odder than that. It was almost like they were trying to deliberately be a parody of something although I guess that's their thing.
The British Sea Power set had a large smattering of new songs which hopefully will see the light of day in 2020. Sounded very good too!
There was a little bit more foliage than usual and a little bit more polar bear action too.
* I didn't take the last three pictures - they were posted to the BSP Facebook group. In the last one you can clearly see me and Mr R P Jr in the corner!
