Ticket for the Frank and Walters

It's been a long time since I saw the Frank and Walters headlining a show. And as this is their 30th anniversay show, it feels like a long time too!

Got in nice and early to catch the Inspiral Carpets in all but name, Tom Hingley and the Kar-Pets. I've interviewed Tom a couple of times in the past and like Father Larry Duff, he is always tremendous fun.

The Frank and Walters started out as a very zany madcap indie band (think songs like Michael and Walter's Trip) but turned into a ballady/jaunty indiepop band quite quickly after that. They're still putting out fantastic tunes - Indie Love Song is in my top 10 tracks of the 2010s. Tonight was a very thorough run-through of all of their music from beginning to end and went down really well with the crowd, which probably had more than the average number of drunken Irish ex-pats drinking too much and falling over near me.

This one (above) wasn't taken by me - it was posted on their Twitter.
